PHASE TWO

Advanced Biofuels and Synthetic Aviation Fuel

An independent renewable-fuels business at Loring

Loring Holdings plans to develop, own, and operate a renewable-fuels facility at or near the former Loring Air Force Base. Phase Two would combine regional biomass resources, dedicated renewable power, and industrial infrastructure to support Sustainable Aviation Fuel and other renewable-fuel opportunities.

The facility is planned with its own independent power system. Phase Two can advance separately from the Phase One data-center opportunity.

CONCEPT

The Production Concept

Current planning centers on a biomass-based renewable-fuels facility supported by dedicated generation. Technology selection, production capacity, product specifications, and the operating configuration will be established through engineering, commercial agreements, and permitting.

Long-term product offtake and downstream transportation are central to the business model. Loring Holdings plans to manage biomass supply arrangements as part of project development.

LOCATION

Why Northern Maine

  • Regional biomass resources provide a basis for long-term fuel and power planning.

  • Dedicated generation is intended to reduce dependence on constrained public transmission systems.

  • An industrial setting supports the evaluation of production, storage, utilities, and future expansion.

  • Transportation and corridor interests offer potential connections to coastal markets.

LOGISTICS

Potential logistics from Loring to coastal markets

The approximately 200-mile Searsport–Loring corridor offers a potential route for renewable-fuels logistics between Northern Maine and tidewater, subject to existing rights, engineering, commercial arrangements, and approvals.

The development concept contemplates transporting unblended SAF to Searsport for blending and marine distribution to receiving terminals serving Northeast aviation markets. This is a proposed logistics chain; terminal access, blending arrangements, product qualification, transportation agreements, and customers remain matters for project development.
